Closing September 4, 2022

September 4, 2022 – Elijah House Foundation will no longer operate the Elijah House Emergency COVID Shelter at 1111 Whalen Way, Lakeport California, 95422 as of September 4, 2022.

Regretfully, on September 4, 2022 the Elijah House Emergency COVID Shelter must close.

Elijah House Foundation is talking with Lake County COC and other agencies that address homelessness in hopes of identifying a nonprofit willing to take over operations of the Elijah House Emergency COVID Shelter.

The Elijah House Foundation is proud to share that since opening on July 27, 2020:

∙ Elijah House Emergency COVID Shelter has served over 400 individuals;
∙ Elijah House Foundation employees have helped more than 102 people find permanent housing;
∙ Reconnected 41 people with families and helped 38 people gain employment.

Elijah House Emergency COVID Shelter July 2020 – Sept 4, 2022

The Elijah House Emergency COVID Shelter was a 32 bed Emergency Shelter for people coping with homelessness. It offered a place for people without housing to shelter. And it was a place to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Meals, laundry service, showers, and personal items were provided at the shelter.  Elijah House Foundation staff provided Case Management to connect shelter residents with services.

Housing Navigation was offered to help clients gain permanent housing. The shelter also provided Independent Living Training and Job Development with the Elijah House Foundation Work Crew Program.

The Elijah House Emergency COVID Shelter case manager and housing navigator are working successfully to secure housing for every person currently at the Elijah House Emergency COVID Shelter.

All of the 32 current shelter residents will be placed into alternate housing by September 4.

Elijah House Foundation managed the relocations through working with Lake County agencies, by connecting clients with their families, and from the generosity of local philanthropists.
