History
Elijah House Foundation was formed in 2015 to impact, transform, and change lives. The organization was founded by Joseph Henderson, who worked in the field, providing counseling, case management and spiritual guidance to those in treatment programs in the Butte County Area. Using evidence-based methods and programs that greatly impact the communities in which we serve. The organization incorporated in April 2016 to provide high quality services to the criminal justice population.
While working in the field, he felt that the services being provided were not up to the standards that he deemed necessary. At that point, he decided to start providing services with one simple principle in place; would he feel comfortable living there, would he feel comfortable receiving those services if he had been a participant? Currently, Elijah House Foundation is among the top ranked treatment providers in the northern California area.
We provide services to over 150 people with various struggles in separate programming for those criminal justice and non-criminal justice alike. Today we have facilities in two counties, Butte and Tehama. All in different modalities including alcohol and drug free housing, sober living housing, vocational training, employment development and placement, housing placement, family counseling and other out-patient services.
Elijah House Foundation currently works with several different agencies and has expanded from not only serving criminal justice but all other types of populations needing addiction and mental health treatment as well.
Elijah House Foundation is guided by a Board of Directors with eleven seats. Elijah House Foundation strives to model all treatment with a healthy family-oriented method. We believe a lot of our success is credited to teaching healthy family dynamics.
